SUL 550 pots on 09/15/2007 23:46:16 MDT Print View

I am wondering, the new 550 versions of the firelight pots, will they fit in the Caldera Cone system made for the 500 pots?

I am considering getting that combination, but the caldera cone will be pretty much worthless to me if the pot wont fit.

I will be looking at the pot with handles. Ill probably also get the full kitchen

Cheers,

Adam

The answer is....not really. While the diameter of the 550 pot is the same as the 500.....and will be held snugly and hang off its lip.....the 550 is taller than the 500 and as a consequence it is too close to the stove and really hurts efficiency. So....yes....you can shove the two together....but you likely won't like the way it runs.

Hope that helps!

"I don't remember mine coming in a solo red cup, but yes, "

I think they package it in the red "solo" cup (think the kind you buy 20+ for 6$) when ordering it SANS kitchen.

Great Kitchen set! on 11/12/2009 20:40:07 MST Print View

I've used my Caldera Kitchen for the AGG 3 cup pot about 10 times now. It's a great setup and everything packs together very nicely.

The stove works flawlessly and is far more efficient than any of my homemade alcohol stoves. The system seems impervious to wind.

One of my hiking buddies has mentioned that the size seems to be a drawback if you're limited on pack space. It seems small enough to me; especially considering that it contains EVERYTHING (pot, lid, cup, cozies, lighter, fuel, stove, windscreen). I love it.

Perfect all-in-one system for me.
