I'm just curious how this is a better choice that duct tape in the backcountry. DT can be multiuse, and therefor a better option, IMHO, for going into my pack. Although this would be fantastic for at-home reparing when I get back!

I like this product because I don't want to stick duct tape on my beautiful silnylon tent. Is there an equivalent or a way to repair quantum fabric or the shell fabrics on UL and L down vests or coats, like the Western Mountaineering Flsh Vest (just got my first spark hole about 1/16") when there are small punctures or spark holes?

Bill,
Will Sail repair tape stick to sylnylon? I've used it on lots of other nylon material from tents to packs and sleeping bags. A piece on each side of a tear is quick, light and semi-permanent. I've not yet tried it on silnylon.

Dennis, or others, has anyone the answer to Dennis's question? Thanks.

Roleigh,
Regarding the Trail Angel: This is the Trail Angel in question. Her name is Georgi Heitman, and I met her at ADZPCTKO last year. She lives along the PCT, just north of Mt.Lassen and south of the Hat Creek Rim, in Old Station, CA. She's the real thing.

I just took the time to call her and she said to say Hi! to anyone who might be "listening in".

Regarding the silnylon question I've tried it and it seems to work, though it seems to peel off fairly easily.
