Like Evernew titanium pots? Then you'll love the Vargo Titanium Kettle, which uses the same materials technologies but refines the design to be more suitable for the lightweight backpacker. Gone are the Evernew-style folding handles that melt, add weight, and are nearly impossible to remove without popping the rivets and destroying the pot. The Vargo Kettle pours drip-free, has a lid with a built in pasta strainer, fits nice and snug, and has a great ultralight knob handle.
Going Ultralight? Ditch the lid and replace with aluminum foil, and you'll have a 0.9L pot that easily weighs less than 3 ounces.
Why Handleless Pots are the Shizzle: Because handles get HOT when they are on a stove and are near useless anyways. If you are cooking over a fire, they are worthless. If you are cooking over an alcohol stove with its flames sweeping up the sides of the pots, the rubber grippy stuff on handles like those found on Evernew pots melt. Handleless pots + insulating gloves (or bandana) = fine ultralight style.
Constructed from the same non-stick titanium material technology that was awarded Backpacker Magazine’s Editor’s Choice award in 2005, our non-stick pot adds even more user-friendly features to this amazingly light-weight and functional cookware.
Tip: Counting ounces? Use a glove and leave the pot gripper at home.
