Overview

The UrsaLite Bear Bag System is a sub-TWO ounce package that simplifies – and lightens – the system and process for hanging your food in the backcountry.

The UrsaLite Bear Bag System is designed based on the principles of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) Method for food hanging, which is detailed in Bear Bag Hanging Techniques.

Warranty & Usage Guidelines

The UrsaLite Ultralight Bear Bag System is not designed for careless hikers that do not understand the durability limitations of using ultralight fabrics.

We have optimized this system by reducing its weight. To that end, the system utilizes some of the lightest fabrics available.

While we warranty the system to be free from manufacturing defects, we cannot warranty fabrics against abrasion or tearing, or against seams from ripping as a result of excess weight in your food sack. The rock sack is going to get beat up: don't worry about it. If you need a new one, we'll send one to ya. Otherwise, simply replace the rock sack with a mesh avocado bag from your grocery store or sew your own out of scrap fabric or an old headnet.

Please do not exceed a 10-12 pound food weight in your sack. More is possible, but requires very careful attention to hanging and lowering your food so as not to place excessive weight on seams.

Do not carry the sack by its drawcord. Carry it by supporting its weight with your hands underneath the bottom of the bag.
