A very nice bag from an eminent manufacturer. The Epic fabric breaths well and is fairly water resistant to condensation. The full zipper version can be employed to make it quilt-like.

Feathered Friends makes 3 different 20 degree bags of increasing widths (Hummingbird, Swallow, Swift). I am 6 foot 2, 170 lbs and this middle sized bag is very roomy for a mummy style; should be suitable for those who feel claustrophobic in a more tapered model. The less constricted size also allows for layering inside the bag so as to not compress the down insulation.

Continuous baffles allow you to adjust the loft distribution, for instance, top to bottom for warmer weather.

If you want to spring for one good conventional bag that can handle a large variety of conditions, this is one to strongly consider.

The knowledgeable staff is very helpful in deciding what bag might suit you best. They will accept returns if it turns out to not be the bag for you and have been making bags since the early 70s for the worst conditions possible.

2008 Nano Model on 04/21/2009 19:08:48 MDT Report Post Print

Rating: 5 / 5

I have 2008 Nano version of this bag. I initially assumed that the bag was rated optimistically. It turns out not to be the case. I've now slept comfortably in the mid teens with just a base layer. Combined with a bivy the bag is fine down to 10F.
