My girlfriend used this pack on our PCT SOBO thru-hike. She is tough on her gear, but it lasted pretty well and shows very little in the way of wear. However, she still had a few gripes. One was that nearly all the straps are just too short. Because of this, the top compression strap is useless as a lashing point for gear that won't fit in the pack. The side compression straps are equally as short and difficult to grab because they are nearly always completely maxed out. Another gripe was the plastic components. They feel flimsy and cheap compared to others and the one on her right shoulder strap completely and spontaneously failed as we were walking into town one day. She also tore the bottom of the pack while carrying a bear canister. Perhaps some 500D cordura would help there. It didn't have an ice ax loop, but just stick it into the two side compression straps worked well. Borah gear didn't have any replacement packs when we informed them of the breakage, but they did offer to repair it for free in addition to adding some extra length to the straps. Not too helpful when you are on the PCT, but still good helpful customer service.
