Recently, I backpacked off trail that required many rappels. It was very desireable to minimize pack weight to make good time to our preferred destinations. I prefer an HMS Carabiner because a Munter Hitch can be used with it. This is the lightest weight HMS carabiner I know of. However, the website said it was just 41grams but my measured weight was 56grams. The Petzl Attache HMS is 77grams. Overall it worked, but I prefer the larger Petzl carabiner and will use it most of the time. If you are counting grams, it may make sense.
