Came home to find a rather colorful small box on my porch today. Wow it is small. I have always thought that it would be cool to have a small bear cannister for 1-2 nights of backpacking. Well here it is. At 29.8 ounces it is a little on the heavier side but lighter than other cannisters. The plastic cannister is shapped exactly like a Garcia bear cannister but it is no where near as big or as heavy (thankfully).

Diameter is 7.4 inches
Length is 8 inches
and the volume is 275 cu. inches.

The lid for the cannister is similar to the Garcia cannister but with a little different locking mechanism.But once locked it cannot be opened like the Bear Vault.

For an overnighter or a 2 night trip this cannister should be just perfect. I am going to Yosemite this weekend (Hetch Hetchy up to Tiltill Valley and through Rancheria Falls and back to the dam. This should be a good test for this cannister!!

For those that wish to use a smaller pack and cannot fit a cannister this could work for you!
