At 6.1 oz. (actual measured weight), this 102" long, 84" tapering to 56" wide, catanery cut tarp provides ample coverage for the 6' plus solo user and an excellent strength to weight ratio. All seams and hems and reinforcements are executed with top notch attention to detail. Plenty of tie-outs to meet the demands of most pitch needs. Little touches like color coding the ridgeline tie-outs to identify the front and rear and interior hangloops for drying socks and the like are most welcome. Although I have not used them, there's even an optional carbon-fiber hoop pole set-up that MLD optionally offers w/ a minor weight penalty (a consideration for those who don't use trekking poles).
I have used this tarp in a relatively unsheltered site in 40 mph winds w/ no damage---although it was not a quiet night's sleep---my bad, not Ron's tailoring.
There are lighter tarps, smaller and/or made of Cuben, but this is sized for me and the .97 Spinntex (Spinnaker) fabric needs to be babied less than Cuben/Nano.
