This jacket, made in 2002 and 2003 used a combination of XCR Goretex with Paclite fabric, a combination I have not seen in other jackets. The breathability is, to put it mildly, superb. The material is sturdy, the cut is to-the-waist, and the weight is reasonable at 15 ounces for my XL. This jacket offers the best breathability vs. waterproofness I have known in 11 years of using such a system. If I see another XCR/Paclite combination, I will definitely buy it.

Unfortunately, I have grown outward since I bought it and can no longer layer under it. Still I miss using it,and hope to find a comparable jacket again soon.

I haven't tried them (yet..), but I've seen similar jackets advertised from a handful of companies recently - including Paddy Pallin and Mammut...

You may find other hybrid jackets available from other companies by now, with some luck..
