I recently picked up a pair of these when they were a good price (~$20/each); I usually use Z-Rests, but my wife prefers an inflatable mat, and these fit the bill for cost/weight/value. shape is nicely rounded on the corners -- looks like a boogie board -- and is 48" long, 20" wide at the widest point.

The pad is specified as 12.0 oz on the backcountry.com website (The Stoic brand is proprietary to backcountry), but on my scale the pads weigh 10.8 oz by themselves. The 12.0 weight is with the stuff sack, patch kit and velcro compression straps (all of which are unnecessary, but are nice to have).

The pad competes directly with the Thermarest Prolite short -- basically identical specs, but on sale, this pad is a much better value. The pad is self-inflating and has a cross-cut foam core that is simpler, but similar to the Prolite.

Actual pad is very comfortable for a 1" pad, and I'd guess the R-value is between 2 and 2.5. 48" length is great and pairs well with a backpack to help insulate your legs.

Rolls up approximately the size of a Nalgene, a little thinner, but slightly taller.

Bottom line: At $54, you've got other (IMHO better) options, but if you can find this on sale, it's an awesome deal for a full-fledged inflatable sleeping pad for less than 11 oz, and it will save tons of room in the pack.

My wife will use this for 3-season camping, I'll probably use this for stealth camping microadventures, when pack space is at a premium.

Agree with Tim above, so I'll only add two points (they're cons, but notice my 4/5 rating):

1. Pad is pretty slippery. Could fix with some seam sealer dots, but haven't yet.
2. Pad takes forever to self-inflate after being rolled. I recommend storing inflated/valve open (as you should anyway) to minimize this, but it still happens. It takes a full day or more to self-inflate when first received!

A STEAL at ~$20 off SteepAndCheap or on sale. I have the full-size version too (1.5" thick) for car camping.
