Edited Sept 2012. In 2011 I wrote 1-star review. Subsequently, ViewRanger fixed the problem that made the app unusable for backpacking. I have not had time to re-evaluate, but my old review is no longer relevant. I'd prefer to remove this post, but the best I can do is change it to 3-star; I'll update the rating and evaluation when I've had a chance to use the new version.
