I got these because Garmont fits better than any shoe I've tried, period. I needed a boot so I looked for the lightest boot Garmont makes The Vetta LITE. Very light for a boot (10oz per Garmont website IIRC) but the LITE has an alpine style sole and I need big lugs for the slop. I exchanged them for The Vetta HIKE and they are effin awesome!! Its a mid cut so I get to use my ankle. They are not UL by any means but they aren't heavy IMO. You can do a lot worse. Basically its a rock solid boot and since its all about fit, fit, fit I love them. No pressure points, no cranking on the laces to get a 'tight' feel ...and the toe box, oh the toe box. Ooohhh my, is it getting hot in here? Spread your toes and wiggle as much as you want, you're free!

My suggestion is try on some Garmonts- any style, boot or shoe just to feel for yourself. I bet you'll love the feeling.
If you don't- go to hell! JK :)

PS: I can get a number of different shoe companies for cheap and I choose to pay full price for Garmonts.
