Exped has Amazing customer service and inovative products. My brother got a Synmat 7 DLX he got at REI. The pad had a defect. He called Kaj at Exped. Kaj asked him to take a picture and then cut off one end of the pad. He wanted manufacturing numbers so they could track it and find out why it was defective. He emailed the pics and told Kaj he wished he would have purchased the Downmat and when he got his pad it was a Downmat 7 DLX. Kaj told my brothr if it was in usable they donate them to less fortunate kids. I am impressed with Exped.

I bought a exped downmat 9 in 2007 and have been using it every winter since for cold trips. Prior to this years trip to Denali I noticed a leak along the edge of the pad where the top is laminated to the bottom. I emailed the service number and they were quick to respond and gave me an RMA. After inspecting the pad they offered a replacement. Given that I had already bought a replacement for the trip I asked them if I could have one of the new synmat UL pads for milder winter conditions and spring/fall. They were happy to send out a new pad and were nothing but helpful. If you are looking for a very comfortable pad and can't deal with very thin sleeping pads, definately check out the exped line of pads.

Year old pad used twice but had unknown leak. Called Exped who offered to look at it and fix it or replace it for free. Mailed it off and weeks later I recieved a new pad! I will buy from Exped again.
