The Shenandoah is basically the Stealth model without the head hole and with an olive green ripstop nylon outer cover and a black lining. After reading about backpacking quilts and pondering these reviews, I decided to take the plunge. Actually I got two JRB quilts, this 40-45 degree summer-weight Shenandoah and a long winter-weight High Sierra Sniveller which was marked down as an introductory item coupled with a recent 15% off sale. I've had a chance to use the Shennandoah this summer with excellent results but the High Sierra will have to wait for colder weather. To begin with these quilts are very well made and very comfortable. I opted out of the sewn footbox to give me a little more flexibility. I've rigged up some shock cord and mini-carabiners to slide under a short Thermarest pad to help keep the quilt in place and the system works great. These quilts are very light weight. The Shannandoah is only about 16 ounces and the High Sierra comes in at about 30 ounces. I'll get back with a review of the High Sierra when I have had a chance to use it in the field. The customer service from JRB is great! Very quick shipping. If you are thinking about giving a backpacking quilt a try, be sure to look over those from JRB, they are excellent and very reasonably priced.
