My first and only purchase from Ray-Way was the book "Trail Life" which I purchased from the Ray-Way web site. It arrived water-damaged, as the package had split open during transit. It had clearly been packaged poorly. Unlike Amazon, which plastic-wraps books before boxing them, Ray-Way simply mailed it unprotected in a Priority-Mail document envelope, which is inadequate for this book. When I contacted them, they first asked me to to take it up with the post office, and finally agreed to issue a refund, if I would mail it back to them. To me, this is cheap, squirrely behavior. On their site, they ask customers to order from them, not Amazon, so that they do not have to pay a cut to Amazon -- but this was a mistake. With Amazon, I would have gotten a better price, free shipping and proper packaging. Although the stuff in the book is good (which I was able to read after drying it out and unsticking the pages), I would really hesitate about doing business with them again.
