Ive been in the market for either an ultralight single wall or a tarptent type shelter for awhile when i stumbled upon this on ebay. Single wall floorless tarp/tent with one pole and 9 stake setup. I set it up yesterday and it seems perfect for me and my 150lb. Great Dane hiking partner. I weighed it this morning on my postage scale and with tent body, single 36" pole, and 9 stakes it came in at 26.10 oz or 1.63 lbs. It about 50 sq ft and is more than enough room for 2 people and gear. This thing is great. Check it out at www.appytrails.comAll set up

Too small and no ventilation on 06/21/2010 01:28:22 MDT Report Post Print

I guess I better start with the price is right, so we don't really expect it to be perfect do we?

There is nowhere near enough room to have two people lying in there with their feet down the small end. Both users bags would be touching the walls, there is barely enough space for one person to put a set of feet down there.

My other winge is that idea that you could pitch this so close to the ground. I tried this once on a still night, with the door about half open and the walls were covered in condensation in the morning, almost to the point of drips. To remedy this problem I attached loops to all the peg out points, and pitch it a bit higher now. This seems to have mostly fixed the ventilation problem.

Overall I am happy with quality of construction and the like but it is too small for regular use with two people, so I am dissapointed with the claims of how many people this can hold. No way at all you could fit three people in there horizontally.
