This was the lightest wind breaker I could find with a full-zip and no hood. The men's comes in at 2.9 oz. and the women's at 2.4 oz. Blocks the wind wonderfully and is pretty breathable. The 2009 model is updated with a bit of mesh under the arm pits for a bit more breathability. It has proven to be plenty durable (still looks new) as I have worn it on countlesss hikes with scarbbling and bush whacking, and also for running and biking. The price is steep at $100 bucks, but it wasn't hard for me to find one half off. Say what you want about The North Face, but this is a top notch piece of high quality gear.
