I had well used and more or less thrashed a jacket that was an early model lightweight 3-layer stretch shell over a period of about 8 years when it "gave up the ghost." Specifically, it began being hospitable to water from the outside in. I decided to send it in for evaluation, since it was the WTB membrane in between the layers that was actually worn thin and leaking. I kind of doubted that it would justify replacing, but it did me no good and perhaps they would gain some insight from a field failure.
Well, to my surprise and delight, they replaced it with a brand new version of the shell with no questions asked. Wow, a jacket with no patches and even a tad lighter! I look forward to seeing how these welded seams work!
Thanks Cloudveil!
