The Stainless Steel S-Biners are simple and easy to use. The spring action in the biner is always reliable. I use them for a quick and easy set up with my poncho/tarp attaching guy lines and also use them for holding a my small ditty bag in the inside of my MLD Ark backpack that has two hoop loops in the inside. They are great to use with a rope when having to bear bag in a tree. Again the double hooked spring action works really well for a quick attaching and unattaching. The NITE iZE is a small strong multi-use item that comes in several different sizes.

I picked up one of these at Wal-Mart for about $2. I love it for its ease of use and functionality. I use it for bear-bagging the PCT Method. I also like how the wire gate is responsive enough to open it when you want it to without effort, and stays closed otherwise.

It weighs more than aluminum biners (that are not for climbing) but for its small profile, ease of use, and durability, it’s a really good piece of equipment.

at 4 grams this biner is really strong- I made my own lw bear hang kit w/ this as the center piece

I've tested it to ~ 12 lbs and appears it can handle more- occasionally the rope will slip out of the biner as I'm hoisting it, no biggy, let it down and re-insert

for the price/weight/strength/convenience I have to give this a 5 out of 5

After using another small biner that failed due to a poor design, I switched the Nite Ize Size 1 biner for bear bagging this summer. I use one of these to clip to my 1.4mm spectra cord to my food sack.

These biners are really strong. On a recent long trip I had 29 lbs of food which this biner handled with no troubles. The design is perfect.
