Absolute simplicity!

Easily handles 1 1/2 cups of water, only weighs 1.3 oz weight, no handles or lid.

Its design objectives were clean lines, no moving parts, and no separate pieces. Inspired by the Old West's hammered tin cups of trappers, cowboys and miners, the Mug "serves multiple uses: water scoop, spittoon, and whiskey-warmer" according to the BPL Shop's spiel.

Thin-walled titanium alloy offers a high strength-to-weight ratio. Mesh stow sack with drawcord, included.

I enjoy a hot cup of tea especially during early morning. My favorite tea set up is the Trapper's Mug, Caldera Cone and FireLite Mini.

All together they're one simple combination for an easy tea party.

I also use it as part of my SUL gear list. One to 1 1/2 cups is all I need.

This is precisely what I want in my gear. No parts to break, no accessories I don't need.

The only area for improvement would be a slight increase in capacity. For a soloist, it works well if you use dehydrated meals and divide them in half. For a pair of backpackers, it is too small to boil the full water amount in the cup. I get around this by just adding cold water to the bag beforehand, boil as much as I can, then add that and rehydrate like normal, maybe increase the time a bit.

I use this in conjunction with the Possum Down gloves BPL had (still has?) and I don't burn myself. It feels great to have such a simple item in my kit that fills exactly the need I have, without weighing me down. In my kit, I usually try to put enough stuff in it to keep it tightly filled with items. It has not bent yet, and even if it warps a bit, there is no real impact on functionality.

Stock on these was recently refreshed, but I was on the waiting list for over a year to get one. I know this is a slim margin kind of store, but I kind of wish they would keep a better stock on hand. That said, kudos to the BPL team for having the faith in their subscribers it takes to bring innovative products like this to market. Some BPL branded things have analogous items available in the mainstream. To the best of my knowledge, this does not.

A very well designed cup. Light, but seems just as functionaly durable as Snowpeak or Evernew stuff. Ideal size for a soloist. The taller than it is wide shape is one I prefer for cooking on a fire, though it's also great on the BPL esbit wing stove.

I do think it ought to come with a lid (for keeping ash out on the fire), but the simplicity and execution cannot be faulted.
