I ordered several hiking related items online from Botach. After several weeks, I began trying to contact their customer service via phone to check the status of things. Getting voice mail was the norm repeatedly and my requests to call were not returned. I finally reached a human being recently and was put on hold within 1 second of her answering the call. I was abruptly put on hold three times during that call. Her promise to call back with order information never materialized as of this writing. This, by far, is the poorest customer service I've encountered with any online ordering I've been involved with. Spare yourself the agony!

Follow-up Note: After canceling my order, I finally received a call from a customer service rep letting me know that most of what I ordered was not in stock. With this in mind, I have increased by 1 rating to a 2.

Ordered several emergency bivys for
Christmas presents. They sent the wrong item-an inferior space blanket bag. They
did send a UPS call tag, but then called
to say the item was discontinued. We will
see if I get my money back.

I had a similar experience to David's. They sent the inferior space blankets, rather than the correct order, took forever to send a return UPS shipping label, and only yesterday admitted to receiving the returned package and were "reviewing" my order. I have yet to be told they are out of stock like they told David. I have been communicating via e-mail, which at least does seem to get a prompt reply. We'll see if I get the refund I'm entitled to. Two thumbs down.

My experience with this outfit has been very negative. I ordered a pack from them directly and never got a peep back in response. After a few weeks I began emailing them with all the information on my order, but again heard nothing. After this I began calling, and finally got through to a live person who told me they had no record of my order or emails. After digging around they finally found it and promptly informed me my item was on backorder and would be filled when it became available. I told her "no way" and canceled the order. She put the owner on the phone who proceeded to try to talk me out of canceling ("It's a very nice pack; you'll enjoy it"). I told him I was canceling because of poor customer service and left it at that.

If anyone uses this company, I hope your luck is better than mine.

For those of you with a Tactical bent, Botach offers qualty products at a reasonable price. I've scored some top-notch equipment for my rifles at very good discounted prices. Their problem, however, is their absolute crappy service and their apparent indifference towards the customer!
