I orderd the XL and it ways in at even 7oz. It more then keeps me warm sitting around camp at night and it is big enough to throw over me when sleeping to add a extra layer. I have used Flight Vest in June,July, August and even September. Altitude would be between 8,000 to 12,000 feet. It is a nice addition to your layering system.
Highly recomended.

mine was too heavy and the fit wasn't perfect on 06/11/2008 07:58:45 MDT Report Post Print

I would have kept mine but my size medium was also overweight, at almost 7 ounces--ridiculous considering that I bought it thinking I was going to get a 5 ounce vest. For the coverage it provided, which was barely past my waistline, there are numerous warmer options available at that weight or slightly heavier so I ended up selling it. About the fit, I tried a size large before settling on the medium, but the large was just enormous through the torso on me.

I normally wear an XL, but this vest in Large fits me fine. Very nice piece of clothing.
