At a 6.6oz per pole I am very happy and when the poles are in there locked positions again I am happy. It is the twisting locking device that I have had A lOT of problems with. I have used LEKI'S most of the time and have had no problems with them. On pursuit to go lighter I tried the Komperdells and the have failed me on every outing. I bring the manuel with me but still the locking device still will fail- I stop in the middle of my hike several times to fix them-not fun! I think I am going to invest in some BPL's Stix or some GG trekking poles.

Not that light, my 140cm version weighs 180g or 6.3oz each - most of the weight is in the heavy handle.

I have the opposite problem. The poles jam in both of the bottom sections. No probs with slipping - can't get the things to collapse for storage anymore.

I took them apart at home (with a LOT of effort) using soapy water in the jammed section. They were cleaned, dried, re-assembled - but the bottom section still jams when extended past 2 inches. so bad I am about to try lubrication ! (I now, this may prevent the twist lock from working, but they are useless right now, and I am ordering TiGoats or GG LightTreks anyway, once I make up my mind between the two).

Post script - the problem was the cylinder on the locking mechanism in each section. I filed each down carefully by hand to half a mil, with wet and dry for finishing to regain the smooth polished surface, taking extreme care to retain the symmetrical shape, and the stock now works perfectly. the diameter was slightly too large.

The locking mechanism on these poles does not work. They will not stay locked.

I took them apart, and found the reason for this. The lock mechanism is press-fit into the carbon fiber shaft. The fit loosens up over time (especially when cold) and the whole mechanism rotates instead of tightening. (Or if it is already tight, it won't un-tighten.) A really poor design.
