The new Montrail Streak is a very nice shoe for mixed terrain running. I ran a five mile loop with the shoes right out of the box, with no break in period, and the shoe performed great. No hot spots or blisters in any areas. My run started and ended on pavement with a mix of dirt two track and single track making up the remainder. The Streak handled all terrain equally well. I ordered the shoe in the same size as my Hardrocks and the fit was perfect. The toe box is roomy and the overall fit with light running socks is excellent.(I use the same DeFeet socks with my Hardrocks)

The materials and workmanship appear to be very good and the weight was per the manufacturers specifications . I will be interested to see how durable the tread is with nearly all of my runs requiring some asphalt miles. But to be fair this is an issue with any trail shoe.

I will stay with my Montrail Hardrocks when hiking with a pack, but for trail running I have found my new shoe - the Montrail Streak.

Great Neutral Shoe on 05/05/2009 10:30:42 MDT Report Post Print

As a supinator I found it overly difficult to find a neutral trail running shoe.

After some research and the high reviews that Montrail shoes receive here, I decided to try the Streak. I've had these shoes about a week and have been limited to 1-mile + dog walks, but have been pleased. The toe box is roomy, but my heal is held firmly in place.

I'm looking forward to some snow melt in the Big Horn's so I can really put these shoes through their paces.
