The standard hardware store little single edge razor blade is the simplest and lightest thing I've found - ever. Nice and sharp, easy to use - and LIGHT!

They weigh 0.1 ounces!

Buy a little packet of 'em and they work out to about 20 cents each.

They come with a little cardboard tab wrapped around the blade. THis is barely enough. Make your own cardboard holder (just a little envelope out of cereal box cardboard) and your done.

Or, if you think you might get it wet, make a wrapper out of a tiny scrap of sleeping pad faom.

I had some students complain about the razor (they said they HATED it) but they could NOT tell me why. I think they were "boys" and just wanted a big knife.
