Rating: 4 / 5
I bought this bag for my first trip out on the AT. It is rated at 10 deg, weighs 2 lb 10 oz, and has a great pertex endurence shell.
The bag is very roomy for my 5' 10" 170lbs frame. I have plenty of room to wiggle around a bit. The bag has a great neck yolk and seals up nice and tight. The shell easily sheds light rain/mists.
My rating of 4 comes from the lack of fill weight for the temp rating of this bag. I am a very cold sleeper, but I have learned to not take the bag on trips that I expect the temps to fall below 25 deg. I have taken the bag to 10 deg with my moonstone cirrus jacket and pants on.
By the current U.L. standards, the weight of this bag is heavy. I feel that this bag is very adaptable for the weight. It is roomy enough for clothing layers. I have a 20 deg liner for this bag, and the tough shell will block the winds when things get nasty.
This is the bag I take on short hikes, or when the weather isn't too cold but looks wet and windy. The liners are great to use in the summer by themselves.
