Last Breath, told from the perspective of the first person in extreme physiologically stressful situations (hypothermia, dehydration, etc.) is incredibly engaging: it puts you smack in the middle of the plight of the dying person. Psychologically and physiologically, this is wild stuff that reminds you how awful and terrifying in some cases, and how peaceful in others, it might be to die while participating in the outdoor activities we love the most.
One of my favorite books - ever.
