This is Danner's lightest hiking/backpacking boot at an advertised 2.8 lbs per pair (mens' 9)
I bought it after a Keen eVent lined boot began to have its uppers stitching come apart after only 2 days of slot canyon hiking in Grand Escalante, Utah. I took 'em back to REI.
The Danners are $139.95 from Cabela's catalog. They are not resolable but have a long-wearing high carbon rubber sole. Danner's "Terra Force" sole design has a nylon inner shank and a nylon external shank for better stability.
While not a "lightweight" boot by say, "running shoe" standards it is a tough leather/nylon boot with a large black rubber toe cap. The lacing system is typical Danner "lace-to-toe" with two sets of speed lace hooks at the top.
Having hiked Yosemite's Tuolomne River trail and the Lamoille Valley in Nevada's Ruby mountains with these shoes I can say they are the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever owned. I rated them a "4" because Danner needs to find a way to take off another 8 oz. per pair and keep the comfort and stability.
I bought them a size wider because I've learned, on an older pair of D width Danners that my feet spresd after 3 days on the trail, even with only 30 lbs on my back. So I ordered DD width.
