Insane Brightness= Rebel>Cree
I run year round to stay in shape for hiking. Of course working 7-5 every day does not allow me to always run when the sun is shining. For numerous safty reasons as well as to increase my confidence running down pitch black dark roads, I have been in the 3 year quest to find a light system that does not give cars the option to ignore me. Last Spring I started out with a Fenix LOD CE which at the time I though the most amazing light technology I had ever seen (I still consider it pretty darn close). Moving to a new town this Fall that does not have any sidewalks to speak of, I decided I needed even more. The L1D Rebel def answers the call. I can light up the entire road for at least 80 yards not to mention that cars coming my way do not have any issues seeing me. In the past I have been buzzed several times, but that has not been an issue since starting up with this light. I have been using a rechargable AA and only have to charge it up once every other week or so to maintain hardcore brightness. Adding a maglight jakstrap I created myself an instant headlamp. While it is well over an oz heavier than the POD CE, it is well worth it when a serious light is needed.
