Minimus DTThese pants are a very niche product. They're light (4.25oz Med) but the Pertex Shield+ membrane isn't up to long term use.

After a few months of semi-regular use of hiking, biking and motorcycling they were far from waterproof. After a year the membrane was badly bubbling in the higher wear areas and after 1.5 years huge sections of it peeled off so the pants are useless now as rain pants.

I also don't like the system for tightened the bottom of the pants. It's a good idea, but in actual use the velcro flaps make it very difficult to use the ankle zips as they are constantly doing up. It's hard to explain, but I cut mine off as the pants are fairly narrow anyways.

Durability of the shell fabric (nylon) is okay. They're certainly light pants and I put a few cuts and tears in them.

Overall, they're solid pants if you just need something to deploy infrequently, but they're not up to regular use.
