NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS FOR MINIMALIST SHOE WEARING HIKERS. ONLY CONSIDER THESE SHOES FOR BACKPACKING IF YOU WEAR BAREFOOT/MINIMALIST SHOES FULL TIME ALL THE TIME (NOT JUST HIKING)
Wore a new pair of Breathos on an 8-day 131 mile PCT walk. I had worn a pair last year on multiple 30-mile hikes without any problem, but thought I'd give them a significant test. They passed with flying colors. I sized up one size to account for swelling feet and they fit fine. Not a single blister. The sole has been updated from previous models and was very durable, showing very little wear after the trip. They drained water beautifully and held up very well all around. I only give them a "4" because there could be more toe protection. I kicked a tree root and was in pain for a couple of days after that. In Vivo Barefoot's defense, they don't consider this a hiking shoe (more of a trail runner), but I don't buy their hiking shoes because they are not breathable mesh like the Breatho. I'm thinking of adding some toe protection. All in all these are my go to backpacking shoe right now.
