I have had a pair or Newport closed tow keen sandals for about 3 years now. I absolutely love them! So I talked my wife into purchasing the Arroyo 2 for the both of us - let's call it a hybrid running shoe/sandal. We loved them but they came with stiff laces. The Newports I have use an elastic bungee lace.

Both my wife and I had problems with the laces slipping. The shoes had become annoying since I had to bend down and retighten them every 15 or 20 minutes I was hiking or walking.

I contacted Keen customer service and within a week I had 3 new sets of the elastic laces. My wife and I wear the shoes almost every day and my wife loves them as much as I do. She can even fit her arch supports in them which is rare for any running shoe she has.

I would recommend these shoes 100%. Just call Keen and ask them to send you the elastic laces. They flex, bend and keep the shoe glued to your feet while you walk.
