Maybe you don't have to worry about ticks. In the southern US it's something we have to continually address. The Pro-Tick Remedy is the best removal method I've run across. It is a simple, effective method to pry the entire tick loose from your skin. I know it's a single use tool but it is really lightweight. Without the magnifying glass and key chain the Pro-Tick tool doesn't even register 1g on my scale.

This is a slick tool. But the more important message is that when you're in tick habitat, protect yourself. Apply DEET. Use permethrin. Check yourself often. Remove ticks on first sight. Don't become a statistic.

I am so glad someone posted a review of this gizmo.

First let me say that you can remove a tick with a pair of tweezers. The Pro-Tick Remedy tool is not multi-use like tweezers.

That said, it works REALLY well. When I hike with the Boy Scouts or with my family this is a must-have item. It makes removing the buggers a breeze and I have never broken up a tick yet with it.

The only reason I am giving it a 4 is that I don't really think in a UL or SUL kit that it is really required.
