Lightweight for an external frame (4.4#), and well designed. Fits great, and lets you carry much more than you should. Expandable with detachable side pockets. The state of the art in externals, surprised it's not still made.

I love the pack except that I had to perform surgery to improve the suspension attachment of the hip belt to the pack. The velcro in the height adjustment mechanism isn't up to the task when carrying heavy loads (and why would I take this pack if I was packing light?). Great ventilation. Great access to gear. Very durable overall. Good choice for big loads.
