The Origami 2 UL is a five equilateral triangle design that provides excellent wind and weather protection. At 1lb 12.5 oz it is a bit heavy for a UL tarp - but it provides ample room for two campers and all their gear. It works great with one hiking pole and five titanium stakes (not included with the purchase and not included in the weights). The workmanship is excellent and all seams held well. I think one reason for the heavier weight though is all the seams and the full zipper.

As with any single wall tent type structure if you batten down the hatches, (stake the corners all the way to the ground) there can be some condensation issues.

Last year, a buddy and I used the Origami as our shelter above 12,000 feet close to UnCompahgre Peak in SW Colorado. This tarp is best in bad weather conditions. A storm swept over the peak one evening and pelted us with high winds in excess of 40mph, hail and heavy rain. The Origami held as strong as some of the four season tents I have used in the past at a fraction of the weight.

For bad weather camping - I would rank this a 5. For all purpose camping I would have to dock a point for the weight. However, since it does provide foul weather protection for two at less than a pound apiece - it's hard to argue with that.

Still a good product that is well worth the $140 buck price tag.
