Well made and thoughtout bivy/poncho & shelter can save 3 to 5 lbs. For short rains pull over yourself and backpack and everything is inside poncho. Make camp while inside. Stake down the two arm holes and use trekking pole to form A-frame at open end. Vent thru head hole and open A-frame. Can sleep two as bivy. Great cocoon for hammock and privacy to change gear or pit stop.
