I have been buying this bar for a few years now and they are by far my fav. I find it at Trader Joe's (if you have one of those near you), Whole Foods, and Wild Oats.

Unlike all the other bars from Power Bar, Cliff, etc. these bars are not overly sweet, nutty, melt when hot, or become brick like when cold. The bars are made from all organic products. Per the companies site the ingredients are: Almond butter, date paste, agave nectar, flax sprouts, raisins, sesame seeds.

I've tried the active greens and active greens chocolate and both were pretty bad IMO.

I posted this review baack on 2/22/2006 in a discussion about Big Sur Bars. I guess it more properly belongs here:
OK, since we are considering highly dense nutritious and TASTY food bars, I thought I would add one that I discovered at the local Trader Joe's. It is the "Organic" food bar. (It can also be ordered on line at http://www.organicfoodbar.com/usa/about.html)

These are 100% organic food bars, cold pressed and not cooked that have a very long shelf life. I have kept them in my garage in my food bin for months at a time with no discernable effect on their edibility. They have many flavors -- my favorite is the dark Chocolate chip one and the Cranberry one.

The stats:
weight = 2.4 oz
calories = 300 to 340 (depending on flavor)
Fats = 12g with no Trans fat
Sodium = 25g
Carbs = complex 36g
Protein = 8 to 12g (depending on flavor)
Price at TJs has been about $1.39

For those of you who care, these bars are non-GMO and certified Vegan.

They freeze well and remain chewy out of the freezer (Ryan take note). They are immensely satisfying and have served me as my snack and lunch on all of my hikes this past year. I usually eat 3 during the day and it really keeps me going with no highs or lows, just a constant burn. What I really like is that they are low in Sodium so I can determine how much sodium I injest during the day and that the flavors really taste exactly like they indicate. Cranberry is really cranberry, Blueberry is blueberry and Chocolate chip tastes like a bar of dark semi-sweet chocolate from Italy.
