This is a first for me as I have never posted a gear review before. The Scope Outlast Minibrush probably isn't really even considered as hiking gear.

Scope Outlast Minibrush

I only post this here as information for others since on a couple of other threads I suggested the Scope Outlast miniature toothbrush as a viable option for our ultralight style of hiking.

Recently I went to visit family and brought the Scope Outlast Minibrush with me on the trip and decided to try it in my hotel room. After 1 use I was very happy that I didn't depend on it in the field.

IME after one use with regular toothpaste this brush was unusable for future brushings. The bristles were super soft. After the first and only use the bristles were decimated and the gel was gone.

The gel not lasting through more than one brushing was not a deal breaker. It was the poor performance of the bristles that was the reason for the low rating.

FWIW After doing some reading on the product on the Scope website I didn't see where the manufacturer ever suggested using the Outlast Minibrush more than once.

The following is quoted from Scope's product information on their Scope Outlast Minibrush and gotten from the Scope website.

"Feel confident with the power to freshen up in any situation. It’s the perfect brush to use when you’re on the go!

This unique brush requires no water so you can have fresh breath whenever you need it".

What I gather from this is that the product is geared towards fresher breath and not routine maintenance of your teeth.

Party On,
