What makes them a 5, in lower or no wind conitions so far, is that they work for what they are intended to do with no weight involved -- hold tent or tarp guy lines -- they are light weight, beyond belief. But, being small enough as they are they can get lost without paint or tieing a reflective or other line to them. They work in our volcanic soils, which is a surprise. If they don't hold by themselves, in a sandier soil, you can simply put a rock up against them and under the guy line.
So, as the previous reviewer stated, I also got them because I am working on learning how to use a tarp, rather than a tent. They are a great addition to my gear, at literally no weight, give me the flexibility of using them in concert with heavier stakes for the front and rear guys, or main corners ... and, as multipurpose gear, they will make small marshmallow roasting sticks over my stove set up. Among other things.
