Larabars have 14 flavors out, all of which are "raw food" style (not cooked). While small bars, they fill you up. They are also all vegan.

Consider it a bar of fruit, berries and nuts ground up together. They add nothing else to the bars.

For the most part they are sodium free, high in fiber and protein. They also stay soft and chewy in the cold.

Larabar also sells a line of 4 chocolate bars now, which also do not contain anything artificial. I have not tried those yet, but hope to soon!

If you like trail mix flavors, and are trying to avoid added junk and sodium, you will love Larabars! The only downside is they can be very intensely sweet due to the fruit and are a bit pricey.

I grabbed a bunch of random non-Cliff bars at REI before a recent trip. A few of them were wretched, some just indifferent, and a few I thought would be worthwhile to remember for next time. And then I bit into a LaraBar Cherry Pie! Wow, broke da mouth! That was the yummiest food I'd had in days and on the next break I hunted down the other Lara Bars in my food bag. The Pecan Pie and Apple Pie bars were just as good.

I tend to carry Cliff bars because they offer a dependable snack with good flavor, but I'm going to be stocking up on LaraBars for future trips to keep things interesting. I hope the rest of their flavors are as good!

LARABARs are incrediblly tasty little bars. I'm not an especially vegan or all-natural type of person, but it's really incredible that they can use so few ingredients and yet still craft a snack that actually tastes like its name. The cherry pie actually tastes like cherry pie! which is really an amazing sensation when you're out on the trail miles from a dutch oven or any kind of canned cherries and pie crust. It's like a magic trick, though, because all they use in the cherry pie bars are cherries, dates and almonds... In a way it makes a lot of sense. Dates would be the sucrose substitute since a good date is essentially just crystallized sugar. Almonds have a lot of fat in them to add flavor and also add some crunch, and dried cherries are full of sugar, and of course cherry flavor.

I've tried the cashew cookie, which is good, albeit a tad on the dry side, and the apple pie, which predictably tastes just like a fresh apple pie (so much so that I almost need to have it a la mode for the full effect.

The Trader Joes in my neck of the woods only has a handful of flavors, but I checked the LARABAR website and there are some really interesting flavors.

Definitely the best thing to happen to energy bars in a long time.

The only down side is the relatively low calorie and protein content per bar, but all I do to substitute is bring a couple Promax and ProteinPlus bars along on trips as well.

Wow--one of the best of all the brands I've tried (Probars,Cliff bars,Nature Valley, etc.etc). Would have given them a "5" but cost ($/gram) is too high. Big Sur Bars are now my current favorite.

Best (IMO) tasting so far: #1=Pecan Pie, #2 Key Lime Pie, #3 Cinnamon Roll. Costco has a variety pack but you don't get any of the best ones :(

I have to agree with all the A+ reviews and add that if you have a hard time digesting gluten, all the bars are gluten free. These are a main staple in my diet on and off the trail.

I can't recommend them more,

These and the chocolate coconut Larabars are my breakfast on the trail, and the Cherry ones are particularly a treat.

Tasty, moist, tasty, good calorie to weight ratio, compact, resists deformation, doesn't freeze too bad in the cold, tasty, made of real food, and tasty!

Bar-shaped food does not get any better. All the flavors are good but this one is my favorite by a significant margin.
