Sadly, they have a retail store in Colorado, so I have to pay the state sales tax. They have good sales and email discount coupons that sometimes give 15 or 20% discounts. I've ordered from them three or four times. I've never had a problem.

Craig, good news. The last EMS store in Colorado closed a few months ago so no more tax for you. It was two miles away from my home in Denver and I miss it but I'll admit that I took full advantage of the liquidation sale.

In addition to the frequent sales and 20% off coupons, the EMS outlet often offers amazing deals. A few years ago, I scored a 15F 800+ down bag with Pertex Microlight shell for $135.

I have ordered from them online many times and have never had an issue. They are very quick to ship and don't charge a ton for one item. Maybe $6 or so. Great service.

I love EMS. The staff is very friendly, and they price match. So whenever REI has sales or anything online, I just print them out and head over to EMS. They are very good about it.

I used to shop EMS frequently, when I lived near Boston. Many years ago, I bought my first pair of hiking boots there. When I went looking for my latest pair of boots, I scoured the local shops (SF Bay Area), and didn't find anything that was light enough, water repellent, and, mostly FIT. I checked the EMS Web site, called EMS, and spent, oh, 1/2 hour on the phone. And then I called again, for another 1/2 hour or so, asking about fit characteristics of various boots.

They were GREAT! Explained loads of stuff, sent me a bunch of copies of their lacing guide (to give out to fellow hikers), etc., etc.

EMS was my dealer of choice while I lived in New Hampshire. The staff at the store in Nashua and Manchester were pretty top notch. You know you're on to something good when over the course of two years you see the same staff over and over. I have ordered a few things online from them since moving to Montana and the experience is always good.

I was invited to work at EMS, after I retired as a special education coordinator in Buffalo, NY. I have been an EMS customer since their catalog days. I have nothing but praise for the company and its product line. Great value and customer consideration. You cannot go wrong.
