Tough knife in a small light package. 2.8 oz with plastic sheath may be a little much for some but it's a fixed blade knife that can always be worn on your belt so at least it's not more base pack weight. Overall length is 6.25 in with a 2.88 in blade. Width is a little thicker than normal for a blade this size at .156 in. Blade steel is 1095 carbon steel and the handle is large enough for people with medium sized hands to get a full grip. It's a survival neck/belt knife so the sheath holds the knife very tight and secure and it has been skeletonized to reduce weight. I just wrapped mine in some paracord for comfort. They are $50-$60 shipped and can be had in 4 different powdercoats. Black, OD green, Tan, and Pink.

Here's a pic of my little survival set


The set is an Esee Izula in blaze orange (550 wrapped handle), Firesteel, and rescue whistle, strung together so it can all be carried horizontally or vertically.

As you can see, it weighs in a 3.5 ounces, which may be a bit heavy for some. My thoughts are that I'm at least going to carry a small knife (LST, razors make me nervous) and a mini Bic. These weigh in at just about 1 oz. If we assume the worst case scenario, getting separated from your gear somehow, I find a small knife to be insufficient for most survival craft and that the mini bic is susceptible to getting wet. My preference is to carry an additional 2.5 oz so that I have a knife strong enough for batoning/survival craft, a fool proof way of starting a fire, a way to signal, and a bit of 550 cord. It's all small enough to sneak into my pocket around camp as well.
