I am actually pretty surprised that no one has submitted a review for this little beauty. As far as lighting goes I am pretty sure this is the most versatile light sources I own. I have carried it on my keychain for the last 2+ years and it has always been ready to go when I need it. Best of all I have only replaced the batteries 2X. Yes it is not a super high powered Cree or Rebel LED, but it does just what it is intended for by providing long lasting light in a small durable and simple package. All of this being said if I plan to do any extended night hiking this would not be my goto, but for everything else it is great.

PS: the clip on this model is far sturdier than anything Fenix currently has. It is great as a visor mounted light source.

Arc AAA great light for nordic minimalists! on 01/09/2010 23:54:54 MST Report Post Print

In the Northern Canada this is a superb everyday carry light, as it is as bright as a conventionally-bulbed 2AA Maglite, lasts longer, and is waterproof to at least 3M and much lighter!

I got mine used from Candlepower Forums, which has an exchange like BPL's gearswap.

It can be stuck by its clip inside a hair band or bandana for hands-free use, but a real headlamp is better!

'O'-ring sealed, bright, light, extremely reliable, 5/5!
