At last, the perfect spoon! This 5-inch aluminum spoon weighs just 0.2oz and fits easily in my 0.9L ti pot. The business end of the spoon has a squarish tip, which is perfect for scraping up the last bits of food or scraping off anything that's stuck to the pot. Hurray for simplicity!

I swapped my previously beloved Primus folding Ti spork for the Alphalight spoon (long version) for a couple of reasons. The Alphalight is longer (no more messy knuckles when eating freeze-dried meals), lighter (5 grams - woohoo!), simpler (no hinge mechanism to get gunked up or fail suddenly when squeezing teabags!) and finally the slightly squared off bowl shape is perfection for scraping every last morsel out of a bag or pan. None finer.

I have the short version, coming in at .2oz. It's fantastic. Lighter than titanium, and to me, just as durable. Fantastic spoon.

The shortness doesn't bother me as I'm very careful with my freezer bag meals. I just push the food up towards the opening more and more. Kind of like how you try to squeeze out toothpaste the proper way from bottom to top.

I have the longer one and it is perfect for freezer bag meals, and lighter (and cheaper) than the Ti one to boot. The shape is great as well.

I have the long-handled version - ideal for eating out of bags or stirring in pots. As others have noted the shape of the spoon is great for the last bit of food out of the corners. Sometimes I wish the spoon was a little larger to allow for faster shoveling of food.
