Backpacking Light Thorofare Trekking Pant

Size L (my scale 4.1 oz)
I'm 5'11" and 185 lb
Very comfortable fit for me.

Snaps on pant bottom (two settings gives flexibility)

The pull string for the waist is great.

Two regular pockets and one side zip pocket are handy.

So far just tested once (mid 50 F with 10 mph wind) walking a few miles.

These are going to become my primary long pant for my clothing system which includes BPL Merino UL and Cocoon (Hoody and Pant). Clothing was my final area to complete - I know, it is never really complete : )

I'm looking forward to 2009 - many miles!

Not breathable. Feel immediately hot and sweaty as soon as I put them on, even in very moderate temperatures.
Completely wrong kind of fabric for a trekking pant and can't think of any alternative uses where they would be comfortable (for me) either.
Expensive and not fit for purpose.

General impression. As advertised. The two extreme temps I've worn these pants packing a not very light total pack wt of 16-19kg (not exactly backpackinglight) have been a windy, off & on rain, cool 3*C and a sunny, hot 32*C & dry (RH~15%). The pants provide adequate wind and moisture protection under the cool conditions. Hot conditions were about as comfortable as any long pants can be. Found them no hotter than any other light weight, breathable non-vented long pants. Major difference, advantage of these pants is the feather weight mass.
Would I buy a 2nd pair? Yes, at the sale price & if these pair were at the end of their life span.
