This is truly the first shell I have ever owned that I can actually say is breathable. It is remarkable how comfortable it is. I have worn it all winter running in some pretty nasty weather up here in New England and it has done wonderfully in pretty much all conditions. Recently I completed a 30k road race with this top and a wool Icebreaker T-shirt. I was supremely comfortable over the whole course. I also found the slim fit to slide easily under a softshell making a great cold weather above treeline breathable system. For 2.9 ounces it does not get much lighter while maintaining a fair amount of durability. My only dislike is the elastic band around the waist that somtimes tends to hike up abit when I am running. All in all a minor downside. Now why can't US companies make their stuff out of Pertex. The combo of a good wool shirt and a pertex wind top are pretty much as good as it gets in cold weather!!!

I am the funny looking guy sporting a blue Rab wind top and the retina burning yellow New Balance sneaks...

I agree with everything Jonathan said above. Pairing this with a merino wool top is just sublime.

I'd just like to add that I find the fit to be much slimmer and somewhat shorter than I expected. I'm slight of build, but I can barely get a Men's Medium over my shoulders. (In other clothes, Medium is usually a bit baggy.) Once it is on, it is fits pretty well, but has little shoulder room. If you aren't at the smallish end of a size, I'd suggest going up one size.
