Podcast: Justin Lichter's Surprising New Adventure - 1
Justin Lichter wearing the pack that survived 10,000 miles in 2006.

Justin Lichter backpacked 10,000 miles last year, crossing the US from top to bottom three times. He'd already thru-hiked the triple crown (AT, CDT, PCT) in previous years. Many things set Justin's hikes apart from the rest, including the fact that his dog Yoni accompanied him on all these hikes. Here, he talks about Yoni a bit, how he got his trail name (Trauma), and stuns with his revelation of the adventure he begins today. It involves... swimming.

Justin really seems to like what he does... No carrying water??? A dog who sniffs it out in dry river/creek beds??? Go Justin!!! Keep in touch with all of us. I hope the lake water tastes good!

if one lets their passions take hold of their life, they can come to realize what makes their life worth living for, what winds their clock, and go for it. they too can have wonderful life experiences just as trauma does. mt. katahdin 2003keep on keeping on man,

(Karma sends a message to Trauma ...

That begs a well phrased witticism. Where's Kevin when you need him?)

Very interesting interview. And a very interesting goal - with all of those miles hiked, a new challenge would seem to be in order.

Thanks Carol.
