Instructions for Use

1. Press Button for On and Off
2. To Control Brightness -
   • From Off - Press and hold, release at desired brightness. Light will "blink" at lowest light level.
   • From On - Press and hold, release at desired dimness. Light will "blink" at lowest light level.
3. For Safety Beacons - Press and hold past "blink". You can choose Slow Beacon, Medium Beacon, Fast Flash, or S.O.S.
4. Signal/Morse Code - (Squeeze only light) Press rapidly until light will not stay on. To exit Signal/Morse Code, press until light turns off.

Important: You must take your Photon Freedom out of Demonstration Mode by pressing and holding until the light turns off (at least 20 seconds).

On/Off

To turn ON your new Photon Freedom - simply press and release.
To turn OFF your new Photon Freedom - simply press and release.

Brightness Control

When your Freedom is off, press and hold; the light will go from dim to full brightness. Release at the desired level of brightness. The light will blink when it reaches full brightness. (If you continue to press and hold, the Freedom will go to the Safety Beacons.)

When your Freedom is on, press and hold; the light will go from full brightness to dim. Release hold at the desired level of brightness. The light will blink when it reaches the lowest brightness. (If you continue to press and hold, the Freedom will go to the Safety Beacons.)

Brightness Control uses Pulse Width Modulation or PMW. The internal microcircuit pulses the LED on and off at a variable frequency turning the light on and off very rapidly. (It is not visible by the naked eye. This rapid on/off and variable pulse creates the different values of brightness.)

Safety Beacons

Press and Hold to select any of the 4 Safety Beacon Features.

• Slow Beacon - Flashes once every 5 to 6 seconds - .25Hz.
• Medium Beacon - Has an on-off-on beat in one second intervals - 2 Hz.
• Fast Beacon - A very rapid strobe - 10Hz.
• S.O.S. - Continually flashes the International Morse Code for distress.

(When in Slow, Medium, Fast or S.O.S., you can press and hold for the next safety beacon as they cycle circularly)

For the expert user, S.O.S. can be accessed as the first choice once the light blinks at full brightness by quickly releasing hold at the very first beacon flash. To exit, press and release at any time.

Signal/Morse Code

Rapidly turn on and off your light until your light won't stay on when you release your hold (4 times). Your Freedom now works like a squeeze only light. Use for signaling, Morse Code, battery life extension (Light will not stay on in your pocket when bumped). To exit Signal/Morse Code, press and hold until your Freedom turns off.

Helpful Hints:

• You can only brighten your light from off.
• You can only dim your light from on.
• You can return to on/off at any time by pressing and releasing, except from Signal/Morse Code, in which you must press and hold until light turns off.
• If your light turns off after 6 seconds then it is still in Demonstration Mode and must be pressed until it turns off (about 20 seconds).
• If your light will only work as a squeeze light, press and hold until light turns off.

Battery Replacement

Two CR2016 Lithium Batteries are required for Green, Turquoise, Blue, Purple, UV, or White LED models (10 to 12 hours run time).

One CR2032 Lithium Battery is required for Red, Orange, Yellow, or Infrared LED models (yields up to 120 hours run time).
