Overview

The Oware Drawcord Bivy is a water-resistant bivy sack with a simple drawcord closure design, bug netting head end, and waterproof floor.

Its primary application is for desert camping (where precipitation is rare) and for additional wind and precipitation protection under a tarp. It is not designed as a standalone bivy sack for inclement weather, as the top fabric is not waterproof.

This is an end-entry bivy sack with a mesh hood that can be secured by a drawcord, either partially, or fully. We like the partial closure for use with mummy bugs and low bug nights, and we like the full closure for use with quilts and/or high bug nights. We like leaving the closure wide open, with the netting tucked back over the bivy body, (or simply wriggling upward so our head and chest is outside the front of the bivy - OR - simply laying on top of the bivy) for those starry desert nights where maximum views and ventilation are desirable!

Features:

Rectangular footbox.
Mosquito protection in the form of a netting hood and drawcord.
Slightly smaller in volume than Vapr Bivies, so this bivy may not be the best choice for lofty winter bags.
Tie out loop over face for lifting bivy top up for more breathing room.
Stow sack included.

Bottom: 1.3 oz/yd² silicone-coated ripstop nylon (waterproof).
